Reflecting on the past year and realizing it was one of transformation.. This journey has been inside of me for so long and am grateful I finally had the cojones to step into my authentic self. ‘Dis me 💁🏻‍♀️ I joke with friends that I am so not cool enough to be a part of the ‘art scene’ but hell, I am absolutely going to try. It’s odd... the complete stillness and utter chaos that has been the past 2 weeks. Today I counted, & realize it has only been 12 days of grief... and while that seems like a blip, I truly feel the urge and eagerness to get back to normal resting levels; mainly for those around me. There are ups and downs... good moments and bad... no one ever tells you how you’re supposed to act when your dad dies, but I am staying strong - and my support system is as well. Last weekend I worked a wedding... it was the biggest of my career, and a welcomed distraction... The groove of doing what I love and know so well made me feel normal again, and It was easy to forget... but once it had wrapped, and I was alone in my car the relief and grief hit me like a ton of bricks. If I hadn’t been totally exhausted It may have been a cinematic production... luckily it was more like a Jr. High school play. Today I leave for his service, and have practiced my speech dozens of times. If I can get through it without completely losing my shit, I’ll call it a success. Love & Light 🖤

I unexpectedly lost my father this past weekend... I was dreaming about him when I received the call that he had what they thought to be a heart attack... I remember not wanting to wake from the incredible dream I was having and felt annoyance that my phone kept buzzing, trying to pull me out of my sleep. The joy I felt during that dream is something I wish I could explain and hold tightly to the certainty that my father was showing me where he is now and that he is perfect, in every way. Daddy, we will miss you... and, I am so grateful I got a glimpse of the peace and pure joy you’re experiencing now. I am so incredibly proud of the man you were. Love always, your little girl 🖤
